THE PLAYING FIELD MUST FREE OF UNSAFE MATERIALS. SHIN PADS / SOCCER BOOTS OR TAKKIES MUST BE WORN IN MATCHES. REFRESHMENTS SHOULD BE PROVIDED AT ANY PLAYING VENUES.
AGE AND GRADE
• The pupil must be in Grade 1 and 2
• The pupil must be Under 8 or younger, i.e. turns 8 in 2024 (born in 2017 or after).

• Schools must field at least four teams i.e. 28 boys or girls must be entered. By mutual agreement more than 4 teams may play. When confirming the fixture please give the number of teams playing.
• Each team consists of seven players. ONLY SEVEN PLAYERS ON THE FIELD.
• One of the players must be the goalkeeper. The goalkeeper must wear a different top or bit to the other players.
• A maximum of 2 reserves may be substituted during the game.
• Rolling sub is allowed.
LEAGUE MATCHES
• Matches will be played on a Thursday.
• Schools may reschedule matches if a fixture cannot be played on the match date.
• Host schools are requested to kindly confirm the arrangements (venue; number of teams) of matches by the Monday preceding the match.
• The school listed first (on the left) will have a home game.
PHYSICAL FACILITIES
• The game will be played using miniature goals.
• Where mini goals are used, the match is played across one half of the field. Two matches may be played simultaneously on one standard size field.
• It is suggested that the kick off point simply be a small dot in the centre of the Under 8 field.
• A simplified “penalty area”, using a dotted line so as not to add further confusion to the normal full field dimensions, should be marked around the “mini” goals. The size of the rectangle should be 5 x 10 metres.
SIZE OF BALL
• A SIZE 3 ball should be used, NO SIZE 4.
RULES OF THE GAME
• There will be NO off-side. The normal soccer rules will apply unless altered by these Bye-laws.
• The duration of play will be 10 minutes each way.
